The GasResearch Difference
The GasResearch Gold Series throttle body has been specifically designed to provide effective gas metering to high capacity, high performance engines.  This is accomplished through the use of a patented gas throttle body coupled to a specially developed, highly sensitive gas convertor.

The GasResearch Throttle Body utilises a unique LPG metering system to ensure that your engine is always running with an optimal fuel mixture.

This metering system allows the vehicle to be tuned more accurately, meaning that the engine will always recieve the correct amount of gas, ensuring excellent fuel ratio control and therefore better engine efficiency, leading to improved power and economy (when compared to traditional gas systems).

See the
How it works page for more details on the GasResearch system.

I run a dual fuel carby system now, why should I go straight gas?
There are numerous benefits to running straight gas, the main ones being:

     -     Less restriction to air flow = better power/economy

With your current setup, i.e. tophat or snorkel on top of a standard petrol carby, the air must pass through the gas mixer and then the petrol carby, this means the air is restricted twice regardless of which fuel you run.  Running a single carb with our specially designed diffuser system significantly reduces restriction to the engine.

     -     Dedicated tune

When running two different fuels with different octane ratings, you must tune the engine to be able to run without detonation on either fuel.   This means that you are always seeing a compromise between the correct tune for each fuel.   When running straight gas, you can alter your ignition timing to suit the higher octane fuel, and hence improve power and efficiency.   There are a number of other things you can do to improve performance when running straight gas, for more info see our
Engine Preparation Guide.

Can I fit GasResearch to my car?
GasResearch systems are suitable for most naturally aspirated (and some forced induction) vehicles.  Kits are available for the more popular Australian vehicles as can be found on our
Prices page.  If your vehicle is not listed, GasResearch recommended installers (see Fitters) will be able to adapt GasResearch components to suit your application.

I'm rebuilding / having an engine built, what can I do to make it run better on LPG?
There are many things you can do to optimise your engine to run on gas, for guidelines refer to our
Engine Preparation Guide.

What about forced induction?
GasResearch systems may be suitable for some forced induction setups, when installed, set up and tuned by professionals, see our
Forced Induction Section for further details
